McDonough, Georgia (August 10, 2022) – The Bennett Family of Companies (Bennett) is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Richard Miller as President of Bennett On-Site Services, LLC (dba BOSS). BOSS Crane & Rigging is an affiliated operating company of Bennett that offers crane and rigging solutions with its main headquarters located in Longview, Texas.
As an experienced business leader, Richard Miller succeeded David Cowley, former President of BOSS, and assumed the responsibilities of serving as President starting on August 1, 2022.
Richard joined the team at BOSS over a year ago as the Executive Vice President. In this role, he worked closely with David Cowley to help improve operations and the financial performance of the company. Unfortunately, a few months later into his role, the team at BOSS mourned the loss of David Cowley who passed away to ALS.
“BOSS is a fast-growing company with a lot of expansion in its future. We are looking forward to Richard helping to build upon the dream that David Cowley and his family shared for BOSS,” said David Lowry, Vice President of Bennett Family of Companies.
Richard has a track record of achievement in leading high-performance teams in growth and accomplishing positive results.
For over 30 years, Richard has built a legacy in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industry while achieving many milestones throughout his career. He is a veteran of the United States Army and has a master’s degree in Business Administration and Business Law from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management. In his career, he has been fortunate to work his way from a steerman/swamper to holding executive roles for well-known companies in the industry.
“We are very excited for the promotion of Richard Miller at BOSS. Richard’s experience in the crane, rigging and on-site services in the industry will be a great asset to moving the company forward. The team at BOSS will be in good hands under his leadership and direction,” said Marcia Taylor, CEO of Bennett Family of Companies.
Richard Miller, President of BOSS, adds, “I am very humbled and excited to be named President of BOSS recently. I look forward to this opportunity and being able to build upon the legacy that was built from our good friend and brother, David Cowley. These are big shoes to fill, but I’m honored to be working with the world-class team at BOSS to grow and expand our crane, rigging and heavy transportation services in the industry.”
BOSS was established in 2015 in Longview, Texas. Under the leadership of David Cowley, BOSS became one of the leading crane companies in the mid-west, with three business divisions and one subsidiary, operating over 40 cranes and more than 200 employees. The operating divisions of BOSS include BOSS Crane & Rigging, BOSS Oil Field Services and BOSS Heavy Haul; and BOSS Transportation Services, LLC is a wholly owned motor carrier subsidiary of BOSS which specializes in the transport of crane accessorial equipment for BOSS and third party customers.
